Dr Steph Lazarczuk is a Sport Rehabilitator with clinical experience across elite sport, military rehabilitation, and private practice. In addition, she has experience in academia, teaching on undergraduate and postgraduate degrees while also producing injury-focused research.
Since completing her undergraduate degree in Sport Rehabilitation, she initially studied for a MSc in Strength and Conditioning followed by a further Masters by Research. This research investigated the epidemiology of kicking-related injuries in Rugby Union, and the mechanics of different kick types.
Steph has always had keen interest in muscle and tendon injury and adaptation. Having worked in football, rugby, ice hockey, cricket, and tennis, she has certainly seen a few injuries! As a clinician, Steph has dealt with injuries from occurrence on the pitch through to return to performance. With a desire to further her knowledge, Steph subsequently completed her PhD with a focus on hamstring muscle-tendon geometry, injury and training strategies.
Steph’s combined experience means she is well placed to work with healthy and injured athletes, their support teams and governing bodies. As part of her current role, Steph is the Lead for Sport Therapy and Rehabilitation provision on the Sport Excellence Programme at Solent University, supporting dual career athletes with their preparation for competition. She also has current ITMMiF certification and is en route to becoming an FA affiliate tutor (having previously taught on the RFU PHICIS course).
Steph also engages in speaking opportunities, presenting her research at conferences, workshops, and on podcasts to share her knowledge. She has experience of delivering to people of all backgrounds and roles, tailoring content to meet the needs of the audience. Check the Research & Media tab for more information.
